Listening Day Volume 1

The Listening Day is a devotional that invites readers to listen to the Father’s voice and consider what it means to be present with him each day.

God cannot be known in the past. He cannot be known in the future. To him, all times are now-and the Father invites us to join him, to know him, now. We must learn to quiet ourselves and listen for his voice every day.

The Listening Day is a collection of responses to scripture, focusing on the meaning and power of the present. Readers will find each entry begins and ends with a scripture-two passages that share a special connection to meditate upon throughout their day. The voice of the Father makes up the middle portion of each entry and is author Paul Pastor’s reflective response on those passages of scripture-what he hears the Father saying through his perfect word, and, in one or two lines, our own hearts’ cries back to the Father. Each entry is poetic, crafted carefully to highlight the scriptures they reflect on with surprising, strong, beautiful words from God, who at times encourages, rebukes, laughs, invites, and instructs. Each day’s entry ends with a short prayer.

The Listening Day, Volume One is a 90-day devotional that will become part of a 365-day devotional after the publication of the forthcoming volumes 2-4.
