In the introduction, the author shows how the radical Left, in one generation, has transformed moviemaking away from the moral standards and family values of “The Golden Age of Hollywood.” The 440 motion pictures chosen for the book were picked by the author and a committee of twenty-two others connected with the film industry, including director Robert Wise (The Sound of Music) and cinematographer Fred Koenekamp (Patton). The survey includes what the panel concluded to be the top one hundred films of all-time. Along with the “cream of the crop” are fifty landmark films, fifty of the most underrated movies of all time, and forty family classics. Each essay also includes trivia, data, critical comments, and where deemed necessary, warnings for those films with sex scenes, violence, or foul language.
